At RWS Language Weaver, we have two decades of experience in designing, building and deploying large-scale cutting-edge AI-powered software applications. We develop and deploy a state-of-the-art Machine Translation service, both on-premise and in a multi-tenant cloud product (at portal.languageweaver.com). As a Research Scientist at Language Weaver you will discover, design and implement solutions to interesting problems at the intersection of Linguistic AI, Business, and Software. You will work on finding ways of applying Generative AI to Enterprise use cases, in a scalable and cost-effective manner. You will use your strong knowledge of machine learning and natural language processing to build the next generation of Language Weaver products and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborating with the team to design, develop, and evaluate novel Machine Translation and Natural Language Processing techniques.
• Leveraging state-of-the-art approaches in Machine Translation, Natural Language Processing and AI to improve our products and services.
• Developing prototypes and simulations to demonstrate the feasibility of new ideas.
• Presenting findings and results effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Working across multiple teams and functions to identify research directions, prioritize tasks, and deliver results.
• Demonstrating a scientific mindset and the ability to invent novel solutions.

Skills & Experience

• PhD or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, statistics, machine learning, mathematics, or in another highly quantitative field
• In-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art approaches in Machine Translation and Generative AI
• 2+ years of relevant academic research or industry experience
• Scientific mindset and the ability to invent novel solutions
• Excellent creative problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and data presentation skills
• Proven track record of working effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualification

• Demonstrated ability to lead research projects and identify fruitful research directions
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate across teams and with multiple stakeholders
• Experience with applying scientific principles to real-world problems 

Base Pay

$150,000 - $180,000 / year plus bonuses

Actual rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to: position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
